Lots of fun.... for a month July 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had never played DDR or any game of the sort before buying this pad, which i did on a whim. I hooked it up to my Mac to play the free Stepmania download. It was easy to hook up and use and I had a lot of fun... for about a month. After a month, some of the arrows stopped working correctly (didn't fire when stepped i on them, fired when i wasn't stepping on them). I finally cut off the foam padding to see if i could salvage the thing. I guess the problem is that the plastic that the wiring is attached to became crinkled and bent onto itself. A large part of the problem seemed to stem from the fact that the foam pad seemed to stretch with use. This caused the corners to bend up on themselves, and, i believe, this lead to the crinkling. I guess none of these pads last forever, but i was hoping to do better than 1 month....
Do not buy. November 4, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I knew these were cheap, but I was expecting it to at least work. Mine wouldn't even work. To see if it was really broken, I hooked it up to my Xbox and inserted my memory card into it. Sure enough, my Xbox couldn't detect my memory card. The manual was only a set of basic instructions in broken English. What's worse is I need a receipt to get my $30 back.
A very good pad September 19, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This dance pad is probably the best buy for those that want one with PC hook up. It's very sensitive and it's easy to use once you figure it out. The only small issue is that it's a bit easy to slip while using it. But it's not that big of an issue. I really like it.
Not "Non-Slip"... May 12, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
... but still a lot of fun. This pad suites my purposes just fine. It plays well (although it is a bit small for me), it stores nicely, it has lots of connections, and it is well constructed. Aside from that, there are no things largely wrong with the pad. It just has a certain plasticky odor to it.
Excellent. Works with Mac. March 21, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This pad works well with Macintosh and Stepmania. It is slightly more expensive than some other pads you can find on the internet, but many of these are billed as being "PC compatible", when in fact they require a PS to USB adapter to work with a computer. Be careful of this.
The game is really fun! I would definetly go with the freeware Stepmania over the only comercial version for PC/Mac, In The Groove. Not only is it free, but you can also get a huge number of really enjoyable, well scripted songs to go with it, and even edit your own songs (not possible in ITG).
