Terrible Product December 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is TERRIBLE. Any HDMI cable, if it works properly is going to provide the same level of quality as this overpriced piece. Even a $5 HDMI cable will perform just as well as this one does. That's because HDMI signals are digital and not analog, so there is zero point in purchasing a very expensive HDMI cable. It will not make your picture or sound get any better whatsoever.
Also, by purchasing Monster cables, you are supporting a company that tries to bully other companies by suing them. The latest target happens to be a mini-golf course that happens to have the word "monster" somewhere in their name. There is no need for this. Please do not support such an abusive company by purchasing this product.
Rip Off December 4, 2008 This is a horrible rip-off. Truth of the matter is places like Amazon and Best Buy make an 80% profit off of these, but they are no different than the $10.00 generics. The whole multi-layer "this layer is faster than the other layers" is complete bunk. At the end of the day, a digital signal is a digital signal. 1s and 0s do not degrade regardless of how pretty the cable looks (I can't believe they gold plate this, that's utterly ridiculous).
This company preys on the ignorant, avoid at all cost.
Total rip-off. December 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I finally took the plunge into HD and bought a nice LCD HDTV and a PS3 to play games and Blu-Rays on, one of the geeks at Best Buy talked me into buying these Monster HDMI cables to go with it. I didn't know any better at the time, unfortunately.
Upon setting up my new equipment, everything looked great, I was pleased. A few days later, I switched from cable to DirecTV. The DirecTV HD-DVR box came with a generic HDMI cable - I figured I was going to have to shell out another $100 for a quality cable, until I hooked it up. The generic cable gave me a flawless picture. Unwillingly to believe I'd wasted over $200 on cables, I switched my Monster cable for the generic - it looked EXACTLY the same. Still unwilling to believe I'd been hoodwinked, I switched the Monster HDMI going to my PS3 for the generic and compared the data transfer rates - the generic was actually faster.
In the end, I am $200 poorer and a whole lot wiser.
Monster RIP-OFF December 4, 2008 MONSTER cabling is a rip off... I get all my Home Audio & Video cables custom made (monoprice dot com) for CHEAP and they work every bit as good as MONSTER.
Save your cash, don't waste it on these frauds!

I used this product to feed 1080P picture feed to my projector in a basement. It works great and the picture is amazing, even with a 35 foot length.
