4 out of 5 stars It's ok...   October 18, 2008
It's better than what you get with 360 but really couldn't tell that much difference between this cable and the VGA cable I bought so 4 stars....This is on a 32 inch LCD Sharp HDtv. If your not gaming in HD then you are not getting the next gen experience.

5 out of 5 stars A nice adapter   September 5, 2008
This adapter is an odd item. You can use pretty much any hdmi cable with the 360, and this one is nothing special, though it is relatively inexpensive as they go. No, the benefit here is that you cannot use the standard output adapter and use an hdmi cable. If you want to use analog outputs, or digital optical outputs that are on the standard output cable, AND use HDMI, then you need this. I run some z5500 speakers, and they only have the input for dig optical, dig coax, and 5.1 direct. Works great, highly recommended. However, microsoft should just put the digital optical output on the xbox, not the cord.

5 out of 5 stars great cables   August 19, 2008
I ordered these cables from amazon and I just received them yesterday. After reading these posts, I only thought it would be appropriate to leave my opinion about these cables. I had composite cables hooked up to my HDTV just to give you some brief info about my setup. Once I hooked up the hdmi cable and turned on my xbox I noticed one thing. The picture was very crisp and bright. My Xbox Live dashboard was very clean cut. Madden 2009 already looked great using my composite cable but now I cant keep m eyes off of the game. Call of duty four looks like an entirely new game. One thing I had to do was to go into my tv setup and turn the brightness down maybe by 4 notches because the black on my tv had somewhat of faded grey vertical lines. After making that black adjustment, my television as well as my games improved even more. I put in a DVD and it came to life as well. Now I am thinking about getting a direct TV tivo box that has a HDMI port in the back. Thank you for all of your feedback re: this product because it aided in my purchase and I am very glad I did.

4 out of 5 stars It is what it's meant to be   June 17, 2008

Great product, but heavily priced. Now, if i were you guys, I'd take advantage of buying this cable from one of those Marketplace sellers. Chances are you will find a good deal (like me, 14.99 like new condition) and you won;t have to go through a hassle of using a dremel. For what it is, it is definitely worth it.

NOW, i will say this to you people. My component cable is able to send 1080p signal to my TV. I thought the differences would be noticable between 1080p component and HDMI. And honestly, not much of a difference at all.

I'm using a 42" Philips 42ta648bx 1080p w/ HDMI. HDMI SLIGHTLY has an advantage in terms of graphics, as it is slightly sharper.

BUT, hdmi makes a big difference on playing DVDs. HDMI allows DVDs to upscale to 1080i. Now that is a night and day difference. So instead of buying a upscaled DVD player, just visit this page from time to time for a good deal on the marketplace. dont buy it at its full price, not worth it.

Oh and as for the audio, only if u really need to hook up your home theater with this. Id still recommend to save the cash and just buy a new hdmi that has hdmi out.

1 out of 5 stars You Do NOT Need this Cable   May 28, 2008

I purchased the xbox hdmi cable a while back. I don't even use mine. Before buying you need to make sure that your xbox has an hdmi port. Second, if it does, you still don't need this cable. You can use the HD network cables that came with your machine for your sound. You just have to remove the plastic casing at the end that plugs into your xbox 360. By doing so any hdmi cable has room to slip into the hdmi port. I bought an hdmi cord here on Amazon for a penny plus shipping, and it works perfectly.
