Simply the best! November 19, 2008 I've been a video game fan since my brother introduced me to a game called Knights of the Old Republic, when I learned the same company was creating another scifi adventure game I latched on immediatly. I followed the game for two years, chatted with developers online and analyzed every video thrown the fan's way. After a long wait I was not disappointed.
This video game is simply the best made to date overall, maybe some have better graphics, there may be some gliches here and there but take the story, the graphics, the characters, the dialogue, and the action experience and it is not hard to see why this game has won over 80 awards to date, it even beat Halo 3 to win Best Video Game of the Year!!!
You haven't had the video game experience until you've played Mass Effect.
Really Fun November 11, 2008 The start may be a little overwhelming from learning new controls and getting a feel for the game so I can see why some might say that they don't enjoy it. But if you give it a chance and let yourself get used to it, it becomes pretty much the most amazing game. The story is fantastic. During the journey of your character you can do many fun things. Plus, it also allows for good achievements to add to your gamerscore. Finally, a game that actually seems possible to 100%.
Bioware never ceases to amaze November 11, 2008 What a dynamic game. I'm a big fan of KOTOR and Jade Empire and this game just takes it to the next level. If you are an RPG fan you can't ask for better, but I'm sure Bioware will come up with something even better down the pipeline. Great job guys!!
Long, a bit repetetive, but glorious November 11, 2008 A stunningly good game, worthy of being included alongside the classic Bioware triumphs like KOTOR and the Baldur's Gate series. Mass Effect is perhaps a bit too long, and the combat is nothing to write home about, but the feel of the game is epic from start to finish, a glorious space opera that doesn't stop until the final moment. The story is detailed and complicated, the universe is fully and exhaustively fleshed out and whole, and the voice acting, to my abject astonishment, is actually damn good.
I can't recommend Mass Effect highly enough.
A Collector's Must Have November 10, 2008 I thought well, why not to give a new review for this one year old game! I have played this game about 5 times, every time I found something different and fun to do. The great thing about this game besides it can really caught your imagination and make you extremely addict to it, is the versatility of the story, you can decide whether you want to follow the main plot step by step, or if you want to do side missions instead just for fun. Even you can decide if the mission is too difficult to skip it and continue the main plot, the impact will be minimum to the overall story, and believe me you will come back later for more so eventually you will complete those missions. At the beginning you can be very confused on what are you doing, but the game starts to make sense after the third major mission is completed. If you really like Sci Fi, this game is for you: Strong Story, Excellent Action, and it will give you a fulfillment filling once you complete this game, you will really feel as you saved the galaxy or something (the final battle cinematic is so cool!) If you don't have it, buy it, play it, and enjoy it.
